Please don’t remove the artist’s caption/comment when you reblog a drawing/comic/etc.

I obviously can’t speak for everyone, but in my case the caption is often an addition to the joke, and if you take it away, you take away a part of my comic.

ANOTHER GIVEAWAY!!

This time, it’s Mica’s “Dad, why the hell would you give me Star Trek shirts? One has your face on it. It’s creepy. I don’t care that a con gifted them to you. You’re not going to wear them? Fine. Tumblr can have them” giveaway!! Rules:

  1. you don’t have to be following me, but it would be awesome if you did. Also, I’ll put your name in 5 times rather than 1. I know I’m not a Star Trek blog, but I do post a lot of the reboot! Because Chris Pine’s eyes are the bluest blue to ever blue.
  2. I’m going to regret this if someone from China wins due to my college student budget, but I’ll ship anywhere.
  3. I’d like it if it get’s a few hundred plus notes so, you know, it’s worth it.
  4. Reblog as many times as you want. Likes count.
  5. Don’t be a douche bag and have a giveaway blog.
  6. Giveaway will end on August 1st like my Supernatural one.

You shall receive:

  • 4 Star Trek shirts shown above.
  • They are all various sizes from S-L
  • If the post gets 1,000+ notes, I’ll throw in an autographed and personalized picture of LeVar Burton. Why not? I live in the same house as him, might as well make use of it.

Good luck!

Yet despite being a ripe career field, the tech industry is losing women… This isn’t a problem just for women, but for everyone. Innovation thrives on diversity, and we simply can’t afford for the future of technology not to represent women or people with different backgrounds and experiences.

For girls who don’t benefit from [science, technology, engineering and mathematics education] support early on, it’s also important to remember that it’s never too late to get started. I was finishing up my senior year of college, studying history and literature, when I decided to get into tech. I wondered if it was too late to change paths, but I decided to do it anyway. Years later, I joined a new startup — Google — and I’ve never looked back. For all the girls out there who think it’s too late to get into tech, know that it’s never too late to pursue a good opportunity, even if it means taking a different path.
Susan Wojcicki, senior vice president of advertising and commerce at Google, in an open letter encouraging girls around the world to study science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) and join the tech industry.
